Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder

 Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common disorder among people of all ages, starting when   one is a child. ADHD can be diagnosed when you are a child or as an adult. Symptoms of ADHD can affect work,      school, or home life and can include hyperactivity, lack of attention to detail, and difficulty completing tasks. Struggling with attention or hyperactivity at any age can be evaluated for ADHD. Treatment options are available and vary depending on the individual and their symptoms.

  • Attention-Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder A persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity/impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development with the following symptoms: 

    • Lack of attention to detail

    • Difficulty sustaining attention to tasks

    • Difficulty listening when spoken to directly

    • Difficulty finishing a task before starting another task

    • Avoiding tasks that require significant mental effort

    • Frequently losing things

    • Easily distracted

    • Forgetful

    • Difficulty sitting still/fidgety

    • Difficulty remaining in seat

    • Feels as though they are driven by a motor

    • Difficulty waiting ones turn

    • Interrupting others or finishing others sentences
