Is telehealth for me?

In order to participate in telehealth appointments, you must have:

-device with audio and video capability

-access to the internet

-a private quiet location free of distractions

Telehealth can be beneficial:

- when in-person healthcare is difficult or inconvenient.

- if you have mobility issues, transportation limitations, or a busy schedule that makes it difficult to visit a healthcare provider in person

-as a cost-effective, convenient method of receiving care for chronic conditions

-if you struggle with a condition such as immuno-deficiency or social anxiety that makes it difficult to attend in person appointments

-if you need confidential discreet care beyond what an in person appointment can offer

Balance Psychiatric Services is unable to provide telehealth care for:

-Emergency or life threatening conditions

-New onset of suicidal thoughts or suicidal thoughts with a plan

Please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department for treatment.

Depending on your location and the provider available to you, Balance Psychiatric Services may refer you to an in person treatment provider if you:

-have a history of inpatient psychiatric admission

-have a history of suicide attempts

-are actively dependent on or misusing alcohol or other substances

-require treatment with a controlled medication
